In a survey of 16,000 employees conducted in 2009, if a leader was seen as having a very strong focus on results, they only had a 14% chance of being seen as a great leader. If they had strong social skills, they were seen as a great leader even less frequently —a paltry 12% of the time. However, for leaders with both strong social skills and a results-focus, their likelihood of being seen as a great leader skyrocketed to 72%.
